Back at Interbike, we got a look at the Intense Tracer 29 full suspension bike. Since then the bike has recieved several tweaks and is now ready for trail riders to build up and ride. Jeff Steber of Intense passed along these photos of the bike from the Intense factory. Take a look….
Jeff added that they are also adding a size to the range, “We are also adding a small size as it translates nicely with the T29 geometry and will expand the T29 to riders in the 5’6″ to 5’10” range, 22.5″ top tube and 17″ seat tube.” This will be in addition to the Medium, Large, and X-Large sizes already planned. Jeff tells us that Mediums and Larges have already started shipping, so look for these to start popping up soon.
Look for some more info on Twenty Nine Inches regarding the Intense Tracer 29 soon. For contact info, or to check out the website, see www.intensecycles.com
Pretty but when it gets up into that sort of travel, I’m sticking to 26″ wheels. Looks nice though as all of Intense’s stuff does.
I am hoping it rides like a long travel tallboy, if it does I all in. Plus it is aluminum and when I crash it here in AZ no worries
GT – did you get any geometry figures?
@SS: Geo figures and MSRP’s on the latest post now. 🙂
I received my Intense T29 frame yesterday and am waiting on a Fox Terralogic 120 mm fork. Any suggestions on setting the chainstay length and travel? The frame is the XL and I am 6′-5″ and 250 lbs. Riding lots of all mountain type terrain.
Hi Turkey – I have a question if you can spare a sec…
I’ve been looking at the T29 and am pretty much set on getting one, awaiting a demo on a L size but not until end of Feb… Can’t wait.
I am 6′-8″ tall with around 40″ inside leg and have real trouble getting a bike to fit and feel right… I was wondering how the bike sizes up for you being a hefty 6′ 5″ yourself?… Do you reckon it’ll be a good choice for a guy of my height… ? And out of curiosity what rear shock option did you get ?… (RP23 / Double Barrel ?)
Tried Trek Remedy 9 in XL recently – nice enough bike but hated how it felt – far too small, started considering 29ers and was attracted to the Intense initially as my cousin has a Tracer 2 in L, felt a lot “bigger” and felt 100% better than the Trek – so I reckon the T29 is a good prospect… and I prefer it to custom built frame options that I’ve seen.
Thanks for any help you can offer, it’s bloody hard work getting the right bike when your a tall guy !

I got the XL and went with a 90 mm stem and 20 mm offset seat post. I had quite a bit of discussion with Intense when I placed my order and depending upon how you ride the L might work. I went with the RP23 shock and am running a Fox 120 Talas Terralogic up front. I have a 140 Reba Rockshox Ti that I may swap on to it for certain areas that I go.
I was trying to bring the bike in around 30 pounds total weight and manage to get to 29.13. I want to ride it a few more times but have thought about the upgrade to the Double Barrel. I only was able to ride it twice before we got a huge snow storm here in Oklahoma but I love mine.
I built a RIP9 last fall while waiting on this and am having a hard time deciding which one I like best. I need a few more rides on the Intense but I went on one of the rockiest trails I could find and it handled great. The climbing ability is excellent and I didn’t notice in pedal bob. I have read a few reviews that you can bottom out the RP23 when you push the bike hard and so the DB might be a better choice long term.
