fluid cut 2Fluid ® Unveils Game-Changing Recovery Drink Formula

Fluid ® Sports Nutrition is proud to announce a new flavor to its line of award winning recovery drinks, and with it, an entirely new Vegan-friendly formula. Introducing Fluid ® Recovery, Cinnamon Vanilla – the first recovery drink of its kind to offer non-GMO Pea Protein in a 3:1 carb to protein ratio, 3 grams of the amino acid L-glutamine, and an absolutely delicious natural flavor.

“We couldn’t be more excited about this flavor of Fluid ® Recovery Drink,” says Richard Smith, Founder & CEO of Fluid ® Sports Nutrition. “This is much more than a new flavor for us, it’s about inclusion and living up to our mission. The first time someone told me they couldn’t use our original recovery formula because of a dairy intolerance, my heart sank. Not only is the new flavor dairy free, it is also completely free from soy, gluten, and entirely plant based. Now we can offer a superior recovery option to everyone.”

The new flavor is in production and is now shipping to customers. Initial feedback from product testers included “incredibly effective”, “possibly the best tasting Fluid ® Recovery product yet”, and “tastes like horchata, my new favorite flavor!”.

It was many years ago now, while attending a local MTB race series, that I came up to a booth selling a recovery drink mix. This type of product is a dime…well, a quarter a dozen, at least, as drink mixes are not cheap…but I had never heard of Fluid ® before. Talking to the owners of the fledgling company, I liked them as persons and I liked the way they had designed the product. It was also a time in my cycling journey where I was paying attention to recovering well, being that I was not getting any younger, and recovery gets a bit more critical as you age as an athlete. I used to have a couple of protein shakes after every workout session and they used to help. Getting protein back into the body after a workout is crucial so even if you don’t like the recipe below, you should try and find a protein drink that you enjoy.

I tried it and immediately found it gave me significant benefits. My legs felt fresher the next day if I had mixed up a bottle right after the past day’s ride, and it gave me no stomach issues. It was a winner. I always debate with my fellow riders about whether to drink a protein shake before or after workouts. I personally prefer after because drinking too much before exercising can make me feel a bit ill, but some like the energy boost before they ride. My fav flavor has always been the Fluid Recovery Drink Chocolate Wave. Here is my typical post ride smoothie recipe.

  • a decent sized glass of chocolate milk
  • 2 scoops of the Fluid Recovery Drink Chocolate Wave
  • 1 banana
  • a good 1/2 handful of blueberries (frozen)
  • a good 1/2 handful of pineapple (frozen)
  • Add extra whey protein concentrate if desired
  • Blend well
  • Enjoy a drink so tasty that it cannot be doing you anything good…but it does

R16CV_web_d10b21b5-87bf-42c8-9e3b-9d5c40d1540b_largeWell now they have a new flavor…Fluid Recovery Drink Cinnamon Vanilla and it just freakin’ rocks! Well, at least it does if you like Horchata, with its strong taste of cinnamon and such. It might remind you of Chai as well. I have not tried to do a blender drink concoction yet, I don’t think my blender would be able to withstand all the wear and tear daily experimentations would do to it and it is getting on in years. True, I could use a service similar to https:www.BellevilleApplianceFix.com to get it working again if that happened, but I’ll stick to shaking by hand for now. What I do is that I just plop the miz into a water bottle with some ice (add the ice after you shake it up…mixes better that way) and it is yummy. I sometimes keep a chilled bottle of water on ice in the car so I can get it into my system within that critical 30 minutes after the ride.

This flavor is Vegan friendly, which for me means…pretty much nada…but it is important to many folks out there. At $31.95 for a 16 serving tub, you can also buy it in single serving packs and in 40 serving bags (my preference, although keeping some single packs around can be handy).
