Chrome Debuts WARM Jacket & Vest- by Guitar Ted

Chrome, the company who is well known for messenger bags and shoes, (we reviewed a pair seen here recently), is now branching out to include some “work style” outerwear that has been dubbed “WARM”, which is what you want to be this Fall if you are out and about outdoors.

Chrome WARM

The Chrome WARM Workshirt.

The WARM line up consists of a “work shirt” style mid-layer/outer piece and a vest. Both are tweaked for use on bicycles with longer torso sections and arm lengths. Reflective details and a high visibility “rust orange” color help you to be seen. This might even be a good piece for deer hunting season in some parts of the US where trails take you into hunting areas. Don’t like the high-viz look? These pieces are reversible as well, so you can meld into the crowd without sticking out too much.

Here are the features of the WARM line up from Chrome as given to us:

• Reversible black diamond quilting on one-side, rust orange on the other for visibility choice

• Concealed 4-way stretch Nylon mesh yoke provides ventilation and mobility

• Rear utility pocket doubles as stuff sack

• Front hand warmer pockets

• Reflective taping along front zipper and back yoke band for night visibility

Fabrication details:

• Ripstop nylon shell with diamond quilting pattern for rip-resistance

• Water-resistant poly fill insulation provides warmth even when wet

• Welt covered zipper pockets resist wind and water

• Abrasion resistant nylon twill trim for enhanced durability at wear points

-MSRP: Workshirt- $180.00 Vest- $150.00

With both of these items you can stuff them into their respective pockets and these could double as a camp pillow, or stow away in a bikepacking set up. The claim is that the insulation Chrome is using will even keep you warm hen wet, so that is a bonus if it pans out that way. With the versatility of being a mid-layer piece or an outer, this could be a great addition to any cyclists kit.

Here’s a bit of video on the new WARM line:
