I built up a singular swift for the SSWC in South Africa - the original steel rigid fork (since been upgraded to a niner fork)far surpassed my expectations on the gnarly single track in the race. The trick to 29er single speeding is tyre choice, and of course tubless is not even an option. The singular is my standard go-to bike on most trails here is S.A, with a thick layer of dust gathering on my on-one scandal.

As always the bicycle is a humbling machine and however hard you push it always teaches you a lesson!

cheers!

my front brake blew out on my el commandante and I did some rides in november on my friend's 26 hardtail voodoo. I must say...taking over an inch off the chainstay length of my 29er felt sweet. XC rocketship through twists. Makes me dream about testing a bmc TE01 or Blackcat

I'm still grinning about riding the Air 9 this past summer. That thing was a hoot to ride on our local trails. I bet it would be even faster, and more fun, now with some moisture in the trails.
