On Test: Lezyne Mega Drive LED Light- by Grannygear
From the Lezyne website:
The Lezyne Mega Drive is the ultimate, compact, self-contained performance light. It is designed with a CNC sculpted aluminum body, MOR Optics, and Constant Current power management driving dual LEDs. The Mega Drive puts out an incredibly bright 1000 lumens. The Mega Drive features the Infinite Light design that allows the user to open the rear cap and replace the battery on demand. The Intelligent Power Indicator button allows the user to check the power level during use and recharging. Users can choose between Standard and Race modes to optimize power. The Mega Drive comes with Composite Matrix handlebar mounts (25.4mm and 31.8mm). It is available in the Fully Loaded package with an aluminum handlebar mount and a spare battery pack.
You may recall that Lezyne recently launched a line of self contained (no external battery pack) lights that were well priced, good looking, and were well received by folks looking for a rugged bar mount or helmet light that was not a full on night riding LED light for fast trail use. However, they did not leave well enough alone and revised the entire line including adding a top of the heap, 1000 lumen, dual LED torch to the list of options. We have just received a sample of the new Mega Drive and will be telling you the details soon.
It is a good looking thing too, very handsome and beautifully machined. Stay tuned as we get it out of the box, then get out into the night and light it up!
Note: Lezyne sent the Mega Drive for test and review at no charge to Twenty Nine Inches. We are not being bribed, nor paid to do this review. We will strive to give our honest thoughts and opinions throughout.
