@chainline, like your angle, but be considerate of some others needs.

Ie: I'm sniffing around for around 100 to 120mm travel but continue with the hardtails in the rough. Sure I ride with everyone else and get as far/deep/ steep but it would be more enjoyable with some more travel and traction. Heft is always a big issue as is flex but 100mm that is plush and efficient ecan beat a poorly utilized 140mm.

I'm waiting to ride a Jet RDO in my size as a mate of mine is exstatic with his and am also keen on GT's impressions here but after a few rides on a few bikes have yet to find or hear of 29er dually Nirvana !

'trail bike' what's that then. The Nicolai AC29 was described as pretty much all mountain in an in depth test here. And having ridden one for a while now, I'd agree, I'm coming from a 160mm Helius AM 26er and racing SuperEnduro DH. The Nic AC at 120mm is nearly as competent. Nicolai are building me a 140mm rear travel version as I type and that for me, in 29er guise will be my Enduro race bike to compete against the 160mm 26ers but with better pedalling/cornering grip.
I also ride a 100mm/120mm 20lb 26" bike, some say its xc race. Well it can, but i have happily taken it on DH tracks and trail centre black trails and not found it lacking, I'm not as fast as on a bigger bike in the really rough stuff but with a 69deg HA it's just fine.
My point is I think many people out there are overbiked and probably carry more heft and travel than they need, then search to find better pedalling platforms. Up the skill guys, not the travel :-)

Hi,

Interesting fact about Rockstar in UK. It is speced with 120mm Reba MaxleLite. If clearance for 2.3-ish rubber will be confirmed I'll be looking for new trail bike soon :D

Cheers!
I.

@Tony: Well, while it may look the part, (and I'd argue that is in part due to the bar/stem/spacers set up here), Titus is billing the bike as a "go fast, XC racer". Keep in mind that a 29"er El Guapo is going to be introduced that will fill the "trail bike" category much better than this bike does.

GT, to me this looks more like a trail bike than a race bike. Would you agree? And if so, don't you think only 100mm of rear travel is not sufficient for a full suspension 29er today?
