I had exactly the same problem that Mike mentioned with my Scalpel 1 29er. DT Swiss replaced the rear hub and now it appears to be working fine.

The first rear-wheel that came on my 2012 Scalpel developed a major creak after about 30 minutes of riding. The wheel was replaced by a second wheel, which also creaked. I just got a third wheel that, after a day of hard up-hilling and down-hill breaking, doesn't creak, and I was told that DT Swiss is now using a new way of attaching the flange to the hub. So far so good. But this must be a general problem, and if your rear hub creaks when transitioning from climbing to breaking (and vice versa), you may want to contact the company that sold you your bike or wheel set.

I really admire DT technical aspects, however this is simply too expensive.
Fulcrum Red Metal XL 29 or Mavic C29ssmax, same weigth half the price...

These came stock on my Cannondale Scalpel 29er Carbon 1.
X12 through axle rear and Lefty version front.
They both have Racing Ralph EVO 29.2.5 mounted tubeless with STANS.

I also have a Cannondale Flash29er Carbon 1 - Stock wheels came with Cannondale Lefty hub and DT Swiss 240S rear, ZTR Arch 29er RIMS blade spoked, both with Racing Ralph 29x2.25 EVO mounted - same setup.

As we all know the ARC 29" rims are heavier than the CREST version.

I got the scale out and the results are that the set TRICON 29" wheels weighed in just under 200g heavier than the bullet proof wheels of the FLASH!!

I see these TRICON wheels will become a training wheel set - they are MUCH to heavy. Few training rides and 1 race have confirmed this.

They do look FANTASTIC on the bike!
