@Aaron Harrell: I never quite pulled the trigger on the Pugsley because it was such an expensive bike to build from scratch. The Mukluk was a much less expensive option since it was offered in kit form, essentially, at the time I got mine. (Complications in getting parts on Salsa's part ended up pushing me towards upgrades in certain areas and putting on some of my own parts as well. Long story...)

Now the Pugs is offered in a complete. It was after I had committed to the Salsa. That said, I still would have gone with the Muk since it is lighter and appeals to me on the symmetrical thing as well. I think the refined geometry on the Mukluk is better for snow/sand. (Long-ish chain stays, and other tweaks that make it different than the Pugs) Basically, a personal preference. Both are great bikes

What was your reasons for going with the Mukluk as opposed to the Pugsley? They both seem very similar except for frame material. Can you take is through the process?

I'm loving my Mukluk. I've done 20 mile road rides on it and ridden some singletrack with it last weekend. I think the point about this bike is that every time I pedal it I grin from ear to ear. It's slower than my Fargo yes, but the amount of fun is the same and I just enjoy the ride no matter where I'm going.

I enjoy mine so much I'm going to try commuting to work on it. Should be a blast riding through downtown Los Angeles on my beast!

Here's a timelapse of my singletrack ride. http://youtu.be/N_kqVRYRQvc

@GT. What are the handlebars your running on the mukluk? I now ride FU2 bars with ergo grips on my karate. And love the feel both give me. Thanks for the mukluk update. Plan to order one from Ben (Milltown) in a month or two.
