KT tape is magic. I use it for shoulder stabilization and it works great. Never tried it for lower back pain and I am kicking myself for never thinking of that.

+1 on the fleas those things are bright! with seats IMHO there are a lot of saddles now that work as well as the WTB stuff, I'd give a shout out to the Bonty Rhythm Pro which I've been on for almost 2 years (steel hardtail daily driver), have got the Evoke on my super hundy and I can not complain about it.
Thanks GG for a nice thoughtful list.

Another happy Pure V owner, they are on three different bikes. i used to use the old WTB SST's and these were the closest to it until the new SST came out. Funny thing is I tried the new SST and still prefer the Pure V.

Great read.

Good to see a mention of the 2BLISS tyres (tires . . .) from Specialized. I, too, have been using them and given the decided lack of 29er tubeless specific tyre availability in Australia, Specialized has been a godsend for me. I am working on getting some access to the new Bontrager's as well.

Also, mentioning steel I think was worthwhile. I hazard a guess that many of us very tall folk still need to rely on custom builds, and steel seems to be the best bang for buck still. I, for one, can fit on very *few* stock frames (my 23" Hi Fi Pro being one of the exceptions, but most stock frames esp. in hardtail are just too small for me).

Keep up the good work, and entertaining and honest writing. I look forward to reading more from you guys in 2011.

I agree with the Pure V, just bought another for the project bike. Very happy with the cheap one I have on the now-commuter ride.
