wunnspeed: I like riding rigid and so I am just as sad seeing the "XC-TITANICA" is not going to be but I am rather confident this modification will not "ruin" or even degrade the bike but simply turn it into a different ride. The precision and stiffness of the frame should be be sufficient at least for trail use.
Why the decision was made? I was told it was a plain question of demand, the trail Ti-bike simply received much more requests - after all the GAS29 guys also have to make ´real´money from their bikes to make a living and ;-).
Carbon? hmm ... I am neither for, nor against the material, if the cost/performance is right. Why not?

This sounds like a really nice bike in it's current state. It's really too bad that they're going to possibly ruin a really nice bike just to make it long-travel. Who wants carbon anyway if you're a 'real' rider and have to pay 'real' money for things?

Please don't do it guys.

@c_g:
Well, it's more like weakness for Ti 29er frames really.
Would be nice to see a test of Van Nicholas Zion 29er here someday (maybe Guitar Ted can make a one-time deal with Cloxxki, if he's still kicking around).

Ojos Azules: I was waiting for a comment by you, knowing you have a fable for their bikes ;-). There is something happening with GAS29´s headtubes but no details have reached my ears (or eyes for that matter).
Not sure about every GAS29 frame having only 1 water bottle boss but the two I have had did.

@Yogi:
Good one ! :)

@c_g:
Am I mistaken or Gas29 frames only have one water bottle bosses ?
Do they have plans to put 44mm ZeroStack headtube on this new burlier Titanica to add versatility with fork choices and extra stiffness (seems like many steel and Ti frames are going to take that route) ?
