Thanks Ted.

I was more concerned about the lacing than the tyre interface, but it sounds like they'll lace like a traditional rim, which is good news!

Now just to find the ERD for WTB rims...

@Ian, The TCS system is new. The rim bead/tire interface is much like a UST rim, and in fact, uses a UST specification. The rims do require a rim strip, much like a Stan's yellow strip. So in practice, you will be working with a rim that should work much like a hybrid of Bontrager's TLR and Stan's which will be optimized for the UST tire bead spec WTB TCS tires. (And by association, Bontrager and Specialized tires as well, most likely.) Now that Schwalbe and the soon to come Continental 29"er tubeless ready tires are near to UST bead spec, I suspect that they also will play well with TCS, but we will have to test that out. :)

Can anyone confirm how the TCS system actually works on WTB rims?

The only diagram I could find on their website suggested it was a solid rim bed a la Mavic 819s, but then how do they lace the spokes?

OR Is TCS just a WTB rim with a specific rim tape?

Thanks

What is the inside width of the rim. I am trying to find the best fit for a 2.3 tire.
I know some ride narrower rims to save weight, but is it best to have the wider rim to get the better foot print on the tire? Weight is not an issue with me.

Would you recommend the non-TCS tires for tubeless use on Flows, unofficially of course? Or would it be worth the fight to get the TCS tire on?
