Twenty Nine Inches saw most of the new wheel sets that were planned to come out for 2010 at Interbike last fall. Since then we have been intrigued by many of the new offerings. One of those new offerings was the Sun Ringle’ Charger Pro wheels which promised tubeless compatibility out of the box using Stan’s NoTubes Bead Socket Technology, rim tape, and sealant. Well, we are happy to announce that a Charger Pro 29 wheel set has landed here and we will be getting to put them through their paces in the following weeks.

The Charger Pro wheels are Sun Ringle’s newest set meant for Trail/All Mountain use. Featuring a 28mm wide rim with eyelets, the wheels are laced up using straight pull spokes to “premium direct pull hubs using Japanese Precision Bearings.” The really cool thing is, as mentioned, these wheels are ready to go tubeless with the yellow sealing tape installed and the valve stems in the box. What’s more, you get 4oz of Stan’s “The Solution” sealant to set up your tires with. But Sun Ringle’ didn’t stop there. They even have you covered with end caps for both through axle standards included in the box and the wheels come out with the standard QR caps installed. Sun Ringle’ skewers also are included. Whew! That’s a lot of stuff in one box! All for a MSRP of $650.00.
We’ll be detailing all this out for you in the Out Of The Box post coming up soon with more images of the wheels and specs to go along with it. Stay tuned!
Editor’s Note: This product was supplied to Twenty Nine Inches at no cost for testing and review. We are not being paid or bribed for this review and we will strive to give you our honest opinions throughout.

Wow, these may be really cool wheels, but they have the worst graphics I have ever seen on a modern wheelset.
@Randy Harris: Really? I bet you are a really big fan of American Classic wheels then, eh?
A friend of mine got this exact set in last night…a very nice wheelset, and we were impressed w/ all the goodies that came with it, especially all the endcaps for various fork types.
Personally, I think the graphics rock, but I’m also a Nascar fan so I’m kinda used to the billboard look.
Yeah I dig the look also. Any word on the weight?
@BigT: Approximately 1950 grams for the pair. I’ll have a breakdown of front vs rear and specs in my next posting.
Very interested to hear your opinion. I just recieved a pair of the S-R Black Flag Pro Wheels(won them in a raffle last summer). Unfortunately, they’re the only part that i currently have for the new bike, Doh… Any chance you will be testing a set of those?
@tommyt: Yes, that will come after the Charger Pro review.
