In my recent post about what happened to old Top Ten List products, the top pick for 2007, the RST M-29, was lamented for having disappeared off the face of the earth, save for some close out priced frame/fork deals. Well, it is time for me to eat some crow and admit I was wrong because low and behold I was sent a link to RST’s site that shows an updated RST M-29.

The new version has 32mm stanchions and has shed the cantilever mounts of the previous version. Also notable is the post mount disc brake standard. The graphics have been updated and the color appears to be a flat or matte black on the website.

Otherwise the fork looks much the same. The damper is hydraulic and the spring is air. The fork will come in two models with the main difference being the remote lock out on the “RL” version. Travel will again be available in either 80mm or 100mm modes. Weights are listed as 4.4lbs for the RL version and 4.3lbs for the regular version. Visit the RST webpage for the M-29 here.
Pricing and availability were not available at the time of posting.
Stay tuned for any further updates.

Awesome, great to see it’s not dead!
Good update. Looks like the rebound knob is changed too – that is a good thing. I like that they’ve applied some positive changes and continue to improve this product.
Let’s see if they can carry sufficient inventory this year. Last time around they had it on their website and several months later it was sold out, for years. The weight looks the same as the 2007 model and I’m waiting for GT’s review when RST ships one his way.
I’ve got the new white 2010 model on my Scandal, there is also a new remote lock out that you can swing around to different angles to suit. New graphics look good!
