Dima: You'll be pushing the limits with many 2.3" tires and with most 2.4"ers it will be very close to not workable. Keep in mind that there is barely over 60mm of clearance at the point between the chainstays where the widest part of your tire will pass on the Gryphon. A P-35 will stretch out most 2.4's to at least that wide or wider. (A Maxxis Ardent goes 61mm plus as it is on a P-35)

To my mind, the P-35 and Salsa Gordo are overkill for a Gryphon anyway. I mean, it isn't like the Gryphon is an All Mountain bike! A Salsa Semi, Stan's Flow, or other 28mm wide rims should do fine on the Gryphon while giving your tires a great footprint and building a lighter wheel to boot. And then if you wanted to run a 2.4"er, you'd have the option to do it with a tiny bit of clearance, rather than not have the tire fit at all. So, the narrower rims would give you more options with a Gryphon to boot.

@Enel: I have a set on test, so I won't speak for "c_g", but so far they have been pretty nice. I rode the set I have today, (shod with the excellent Ardent 2.4"ers tubeless), and I detected no flex laterally. I will have to see how they fare in rougher stuff later as testing comes along. I used my own homebrew strips and sealant in these, by the way, but Velocity is coming out with their own strip, or a Stan's Freeride strip is said to work.

I am impressed with the ease of tubeless set up, and the lateral stiffness so far. Toughness is still a question needing an answer for me.

Are the soft like the Blunt, or are they tough like Flows?
