I think its worth noting, calling this a spacebar is misleading. This is a different shaped bar than the original spacebar, not at all like the Mary bar.

@RubberBoy: Yes, the Bontrager Race Mountain shoe is one of my favorite mtb shoes ever, especially considering the price that they sell for.

I have used these as everyday shoes at work, for my entire Sea Otter trip last spring, and of course, for all of my actual mtb activities. Highly recommended! The e-soles are not holding up so well, but I can always put in new ones, so no big deal.

GT, throwing you off to a completely different matter, one that currently concerns me.

I am considering a pair of Bontrager Race Mountain. Once upon a time (2008) you offered an initial review of the product, promising a followup. Never seen one...Is there a link to a one?

if not, could you briefly let me know how the product has faired?

I am most curious wether the sole is stiff enough. I have found the Shimano shoe (MT31), the Lake I/O and Pearl Izumi X-Alp Seek too pliable (yes, like a fool I purchased all three of them...). Ended up riding in the city with SIDI Dominator 5...

Thanks.

@prphoto: Yes, I have seen it, but it is kind of narrow for my tastes.
