Thanks Ted!!!

Here in MN we really don't ride in mud (or at least are not supposed to) which I respect so, mud clearance won't be an issue. I just wanted a BURLY tire for my full sus 29 so it can handle DH. Again (being in MN) to say DH is a relative term. I have a feeling that people from say CO would call our MN-DH trails "Heavy XC" as we really don't have TRUE DH. Point being this tire should fit the bill perfectly! For heavy-XC to light-DH.

The plan being to switch it between my full sus 29'er in the summer and over to my full rigid SS 29'er in the winter.

Again thanks for the info!

@AJ: Dissents should fit fine in the newer Rebas. The widest rims may cause your mud clearances to be minimal, but they should clear. Fox, Manitou, Marzocchi, and White Brothers all clear really well.

Just wondering if you had a final answer on how this tire fits on a Reba with the 29mm rims? You touched on it but (unless I missed it) I didn't see a final yes or no...?

How would the WTB 29er 2.5 perform with a Reba RL on the front? Enough clearance or a disaster waiting to happen?

Thanks!

Great to read some in-depth analysis here, Guitar Ted! As for the 2.5 ExiWolf, wouldn't that turn out remarkably similar to the WeirWolf LT? An interesting thing happens when you put an existing tread on a wider casing--the side knobs become less prominent. You can see this when you compare the 26" Exi 1.95 to the Exi 2.3. The ExiWolf 1.95 is a great mud tire because the side knobs stick out. When we took the same tread and applied it to the 2.3 casing it made the overall profile more round. The Exi 2.3 is a fantastic tire, but it's completely different than the Exi 1.95. The point is that an Exi 2.5 wouldn't be the tire you're looking for.

So, you guys are looking for a casing as wide as the WeirWolf LT, that rolls just as well, with taller side knobs? Is that it?
