@ Jim Chapman: We hope to be getting a Tall Boy in for a review soon, so perhaps that will work out to answer some questions there. Till then, here's my take on the two rigs:

To my mind, the Superfly 100 is a full on race machine. It rides efficiently, is light, and is spec'ed out of the box as such. The Tall Boy, while being XC raceable, is designed to be more than that. Not that the Superfly should be sold short. It too could hold its own as a trail bike with a tire swap from the stock, racer boy shoes, but it is a more "pure bred" racing machine than the Santa Cruz. Especially in terms of how the suspension is set up on the Fisher. (Boost Valve setting)

I guess if I were aiming at doing some serious XC race action on one or the other, I wouldn't be afraid of doing it on the Santa Cruz at all, but the edge here goes to the Superfly 100 in my mind.

If I were focused on 12/24's- really long stuff- then I would give the edge to the Santa Cruz.

How would you compare the Tallboy to the Superfly 100 for a XC racer/trainer? I live in Wisconsin and race on the WORS series along with some point to point races (Cheq 40, Ore 2 Shore) and am doing the BC stage race next year. I am currently riding steel framed custom bikes (full steel hardtail and a steel front triangle/ventana rear end fully) and am happy with the hard tail but am looking for a more responsive and lighter full suspension bike to race/train. Would really love to see a comparison or get your thoughts on the two bikes side by side.

thanks
