Niner Bikes has just posted up new information regarding the upgraded 2010 J.E.T.9. The frame will recieve all new forged parts, new hydro-formed tubing and will feature a tapered steer tube.
No word on when the redesigned frame will bow, but it will feature the same geometry and travel for the rear as before. Colors announced are Vana White, Licorice Anodized, and Kermit Green. Look for more info in our upcoming Interbike coverage.

Nice to see it come to fruition. Here’s hoping for a stiffer maybe lighter frame.
I’m guessing Niner could have made it last year (with the new RIP) but the old selling designs for x amount of time to make the design viable etc.
I like the way they integrated the front lower bearing assembly into the down tube. That should be way strong and stiff and further increase the bottom bracket stiffness too.
The asymmetric forging for the rear triangle looks like a winner. Probably lighter than the old design and doubtless stiffer.
A great bike now better, way to go Niner! Still is and will be “Just Enough Travel” for me.
Man I am stoked. They just recalled my old Jet-9 and now I get upgraded to one of these free.
Funny, I didn’t think I’d be a fan of this bike, but that looks nice! It fits a good niche too, not many FS short travel 29er frames out there. I ride no suspension right now, I could see having 80mm of travel front and back would be really nice. (More would be great too, but I can see the fun in having a short travel bike, that gives you a little bounce when things go pear shaped, but isn’t too bouncy.)
Rob,
I ride in CO and I can say that the travel was perfect for me. I came off a long travel (have not had a hard tail) and find this perfect. Its not a Moab dude ride, but it can handle it if you can handle it. I consider this a long xc race bike myself. eTURK
