I am honored to be consulted...

Everything I write below is my opinion. I suppose some would disagree, but no need for swearing or cursing.

Let me first state that notwithstanding any aesthetics considerations. I will take Niner over GF. I think Niner designs better frames (yes, I have owned and ridden extensively both brands).

However, in terms of aesthetics, GF rips the Niner. The GF artwork exudes professionalism....Niner’s seems like a half-fast work of an amateur.

Highlights:
1) GF incorporates intricate elements that Niner lacks. The triangular waves capture the eye and make one scan the frame over and over again. More power to GF.

2) GF has a global theme. Notice the artwork on the chainstay. A little touch, but it ties everything together. Niner’s...well, the chainstay is plain carbon that seems like a isolated island. You may assert it is some form of minimalism, but heavy paint on one section and nothing on the other does not fall within that category. Thumbs up for GF.

3) The overbearing usage of ‘Niner’ on the frame is uncalled for (three of them all together). The ‘Niner’ on the down tube is too large to be comprehensible. GF, although more gaudy, is actually more subtle. Kudzu for GF designers.

4) GF color pallet, and its application, is brilliant. The two primary colors are black and white; contrasting and offering a sound foundation for the two overlying colors. The red breathes life into the scheme and the mint (sort of green) breaks the mold to tantalize your eye. The coverage of the red and the mint is minimal and reminds a gentle touch of make-up on a beautiful woman. Niner’s treatment of the colors is sloppy. It seems almost like an afterthought. Again, hat off the GF.

That’s me. Anyone that thinks differently--the pleasure is all yours.

IMO, the paint scheme on this frame is awesome! But, i do have to say that Aguy is entitled to his own opinion. Niner CAN'T please everyone. However, this paint scheme reminds me of the fisher paint schemes for 2010 with less complications. What's your opinion on fisher paint Aguy? Just curious!

@ Dirteeth, let's ride....That's really what counts, the rest is shooting the breeze.

On Niner - it's a company I hold in high esteem. In my mind they are 'the' frame maker in the 29 arena. I would always consider purchasing their frames over any other player in the field. Their entrance into the carbon market was inevitable. They had to keep up and I am sure they will.

My negative comments was directed solely at the frame's artwork. I think my criticism constructive. I explained exactly what I did not like about it and I would improve upon it. Niner's graphics have always had an appeal for me; gorgeous colors, bold where it needs to be, without being redundant (i.e., a single large Niner logo), and subtle elsewhere. Straight into my preference pallet. The new carbon frame? I think they have botched it. If I were them, I would give it a another shot.

If any one else out there, for some reason, find it a masterpiece of human esthetics, buy it, admire it, and even display it in your living room, but please do not disparage me.

Lets keep it civil people...We're talking about a great contribution that Niner is going to make to the world of riders who appreciate a light platform on big hoops. I can't wait for this bike to come out & am already wait-listed with my LBS.
AGuy- Why are you commenting if you're only going to be negative & you're not even a carbon guy anyway? "Anonymous" is what comes up automatically if you don't enter a name, FYI & finally: I wouldn't insult someone for lack of imagination when your name is A Guy... It's all good though, I would ride with you & your metal bike!

To Anonymous: Everybody is entitles to the own opinion. Especially when it comes to esthetics.
Using a foul language only degrades the one who uses it...

P.S.: does using the name 'Anonymous' is indicative of a lack of grit or just of a dull imagination?
