Ahh......I think I'd do a wider rim at some point with the tires I mentioned. The MK's have a thinner sidewall, not much different than what you already have been going through. Great tires, but in your case, a lateral move at best.

Thanks. Hit the local shop and they suggested and carry the 2.4" Mountain Kings. In lieu of a new wheelset, your thoughts?

Dave: I managed to mount a UST version on a Flow, so don't give up just yet! Try some dishsoap on the final section of the bead you need to get over. The slippery bead will go over the rim bead easier.

Mike G & GT - I recently received a pair of GEAX Saguro TNT tires and their sidewall is definitely beefy...much more so than the Bonty Xdx As GT mentioned, their fit it so tight that I have yet to get them on a pair of Flow rims that I have. Bummer. I really hate to put too much pressure on a rim with a tire lever so I might not get these mounted.

Mike G: I think it might be a good for you to try the UST version of the GEAX Saguaro. They have a very beefy sidewall, and they are UST, so obviously they would be tubeless compatible. Caveat: They fit extremely tight on some rims, and you won't get them on a Bontrager rim with a TLR rim strip installed. So if you are running Bonty wheels, it may not work. I might suggest a Gordo rim as well, which would also help keep the pinchies at bay.
