Here’s some more goodness from Sea Otter 2009.
Rocky Mountain introduced this Altitude 29″er with a slew of cool details. Fox QR15, tapered steer tube, hydro formed aluminum frame, direct mount front dérailleur, and Stan’s No Tubes Arch wheels stock.
The Vertex was the other Rocky Mountain model debuted and it also features the Fox 15QR and tapered steer tube.
The Vertex, (as well as the Altitude), featured massive weld areas at tubing junctions. The Vertex also featured these sano rack mounts.

Here’s Bontrager’s newest tread design, the 29-3 front and rear specific design. I have a pre-production pair to test on Twenty Nine Inches and The Cyclist Look for some detailed info coming in the next week or so.
At SRAM’s press release this afternoon, it was told that the Reba will now have a painted white crown and a tapered steer tube option, (which we have known about for awhile). No other fork news was given out on the 29″er side, so no long travel fork…… for now……
I like that rear tire design. Looks a bit more open than a Python, yet same principle in design. Should help with the Python’s downfall – wet terrain.
