Another reader chimed in today with an e-mail to me informing me that a prototype Foes 29″er full suspension design was shown at the Fontana race over the past weekend. This bike was not heat treated apparently, so it was not rideable, but otherwise looks to be near production status.
This prototype features Foes single pivot/swing link suspension design with the Curnutt damper, much like the 2:1 XCT-4 26″er. No word on travel, availability date, or prices. However; the frame is indeed headed for production, and will be offered in Foes signature red color with other colors available upon request.

Ooooh, looks spendy. I bet this will cost more than any other out to date – except maybe Turner
I’m far from a suspension specialist, but if it’s single pivot, how much travel could possibly fit there? 4″ would seem like a lot from that frame. More would we odd with that fork I suppose.
But fine, more isn’t always better, or necessary. Would be logical for them to start out with a racey XC FS.
Looks very Intense Spider-ish… Would be interested to see how this turns out though…
Cloxxki – I wouldn’t have thought Foes would bring out an XC FS 29er as their first foray considering they tend more to the AM/FR/DH side of the market…
Money is to be made from “us”. Money they need.
Specialized figured it out, selling (out) to us, firmly against their beliefs. Giant seems to be changing their constitution, too.
New bikes sold are more and more often 29″ers. Soon little market will be left for many 26″ers made. No bike brand enjoys end of season discounts.
