Well, Chris, you should be happy with the next part of the series where we let Paul do some talking.

Dirt Rag had an interview with Paul Sadoff (Rock Lobster) a few years ago and that made my decision when ordering my 26"SS. It's still the measuring stick used when deciding on a new ride. As much as the craftsman needs to talk with the customer, I think you as the customer need to know who you're handing all of your cash over to and trust that this person will be able to deliver a product that you will enjoy. I have heard all the chatter that goes on on MTBR as well about the new builder that has my cash and won't contact me, or the seasoned builder that had shoddy welds on the brake tabs, etc. If you do your research, you'll find a builder that has a reputation for excellent craftsmanship, a record of customer service that goes above and beyond just "making it right", and a method of assurance that your product is on the way without having to constantly distract the builder while they are trying to do their job.

I'm so glad Walt is building my next frame. I did a lot of research with a number of builders and his philosophy made sense -- perfectly encapsulated in this article. He answered all of my questions and gave no BS. I'm looking forward to a frame I can ride for a long time.
