The Marzocchi news mentioned a version with “a simpler damper”…!? My heart skipped a beat here as visions of late 90′s Marzocchi coil/oil internals filled my head and warmed my soul. You know, the fork design that’s still fetching 3/4 of it’s original retail price on ebay 9 years later. The fork that DID NOT FAIL. What if the riders in the company told the marketing guys to “take a hike” , and started building the stuff that solidified their company name in the first. place? Please (GT), tell me that they’ve recreated something along these lines…

The Zocchi news is a let-down. Still just a 32 mm stanchion fork with the stoopid 15mm axle. Damping will probably be TST micro or worse just TST.

How does one mill the Fox 36 arch and what is the resulting travel?

The hutchinson folks are also working on an updated Python called the Cobra. Its available now in 26″ format, but I am told they are working on a 29″ version in their Tubless Ready spec.

The interesting thing, he asked what size would be best. The Python is a 2.0 tire at best. The Toro is a 2.15[I picked one up too]. They’re looking at either a 2.25 or a 2.35 [maybe both, maybe]. I told him 2.35 would be best. This tire looks like it’d be a rocket on dry, dusty courses.
