Geax Saguaro 29″er “TnT” Tire Confirmed
March 25th, 2008 by Guitar TedI’m hearing through the grapevine that the Geax tubeless ready offering that has been rumored to be coming soon is the well liked Saguaro 29″er. The Geax Saguaro will feature Geax’s “TnT” system, which stands for “Tubes, no Tubes” and will be okay to run tubeless with sealant. No word on just when the tire will hit the market, but I’m hearing it will be soon.
Twenty Nine Inches tested some Geax Saguaro 29″er tires last year and we really liked the performance with tubes. Hopefully these new versions will uphold our confidence in these tires and perhaps make them even better since they will be tubeless ready. We will be looking for more news on this and update you when we hear more news. Stay Tuned!

Dang, I thought Geax was coming out with a knobby.
So, they’re not ready to invest in further 29″ tires (milds)?
So, they’re not ready to invest further into 29″ (tire molds?)
My understanding is that more 29er tires are coming from them…probably in 09. This year they really went after the TNT and White series for innovations. I rock the Lobo Loco TNT on my EX9 and they are awesome. Lighter than UST and they do the exact same thing. I would be willing to bet you something along the lines of the Mezcal or Barro hit the 29er market next year.
Oderus: I have a feeling you are correct. I see the “tubeless ready” concept as the reason for the seeming delay in new tires not only from Geax, but from several other manufacturers as well. It just doesn’t make sense to introduce a folding bead tire anymore. It has to be a tubeless ready product, and this also eliminates the need for a separate UST type carcass that holds air without sealant. One new tire model that can be used tubed or tubeless.
Once the manufacturing processes catch up, I think we’ll be seeing a lot more tires from Geax and a few others as well.
Geax is smart in that there entire 26″ mountain line is available wire bead, folding, TNT and UST. The folding and TNT are both sold at the same MSRP! If they get the weight down just a touch, I agree that the folding offerings will slowly disappear in favor of tubeless ready.
Any updated news on the TnT Saguaro – or potential other offerings from Geax?
GLG: Well, for one thing, I have heard that GEAX is terribly slow to get things to market. (Obviously) The response here from Oderus seems to be spot on. I’m hearing that another tire, the Barro, will indeed be the other 29″er offering and that Interbike will be when the tires are announced, if not shown to the public. Most likely these will indeed be ‘09 products.
