I'm expecting my sets of 2.4 and 2.25 Ralphs any day now. Check this space for my findings.
Many will liekly be forced to keep the 2.25 as the rear, as the 2.4 is just so big, few bikes will fit it.

I get it but I don't get it, it would be nice to have a little cushion up front but at the same time the back is heavier, and (in my case) is the part that gets the snot beat out of it. hence the first question.

Thanks for the answers

"We used to do the fat front/skinny rear back in the ol’ rigid days for different reasons than Dirt McGirt gives here. We used the fat front for pseudo suspension and for better traction in the turns. The skinny rear was for less rolling resistance. That’s why we did that here in the Mid West back in the early 90’s."

I still do the same - 2.2 on the front 1.9 on the back.
Got the NEW Racing Ralf on back order - 2.4 on the front 2.25 on the back.

If any of you dont do it It's worth a try, even suspended.
Makes a load of difference in traction and comfort in all conditions.

Hi MMcG

I think the FRM fork on the Zaka has got it's offset at the crown, thet's why it looks strange. That frame is just begging for carbon front end, I think.

I too ride a Dambala and I'm really happy with the sliding dropouts, especially since I've switched to discs. The frame's very compliant and quite maneuverable in sketchy situations. It looks like the Zaka has the same geometry as the Dambala (thought the head angle looks a bit steep in the photo)

Desert- that's an old BMX ploy with the fatty up front and the skinny out back. It makes you a lil faster in the straightaways. Fatty cuts a path for the skinny....

The fork on the Voodoo looks goofy in my opinion. Something about it just doesn't look right visually to my eyes.
