Haro Aluminum 29″er Prototype Surfaces
August 26th, 2007 by Guitar Ted
This news comes from The Bike Biz Babe’s blog and depicts a new Haro aluminum prototype model that appears will become available in some form or another in the spring of ‘08. In another attempt to bring 29″er prices down below the $1000.00 level, Haro is going to kit this bike out to be a more affordable model in response to feedback from their highly successful Mary line up.

Although this certainly will not be the final spec for the production model, the green RST M-29 fork is pretty cool and would be a fine spec to compete with the usual Rock Shox Dart forks that will be common on sub $1000.00 29″er hardtails in ‘08. Let’s hope it makes the cut.
We’ll be poking around at Interbike to find out more on this new model from Haro. Stay tuned!

What is the fork on that prototype? Is that an RST?
Yes that is a RST Fork.
I hope the RST fork stays on as final spec - I’m enjoying mine quite a bit. That color is cool too.
Me likey
The spec on the Motobecane Fantom currently on sale on the ‘bay for $649 shipped pretty much proves that a sub 1k bike already exists. RS Fork, XT rear der and Deore shifters, Truvativ cranks etc, etc. Wait til they come out with a sub 1k SuperFly model though, and it wouldn’t take much either, just a change to the Kinesium tubing…..
and p.s. That trek ad with the party in the front and business in the back is the lamest attempt at marketing I have seen in a long time. Goes along nicely with the whole 69er concept actually……..but to each his own.
