the pictures are pretty grainy…. Are those Flames?
Yeah, they are. These are scans from the catalog, or so I’m guessing. I got them from an anonymous source, so I appologize for the quality, but they give you somewhat of an idea of what to expect.
See the next post for the specs on each of these.
Has anyone heard of a Cannondale FS 29er being released in 2008?
Racer: I’ve heard a rumor that a Scalpel-like, Six/thirteen style constructed 29″er might happen, but that was a very speculative rumor. I haven’t seen or heard any hard evidence that this will happen. I have also heard rumor of a Taurine type carbon 29″er hardtail.
These things, if true at all, would take Cannondale some time to develope according to their own in house testing standards, and owing to the fact that they would be completely new platforms. That takes up a lot of R & D money and time. I wouldn’t hold my breath for something like this, but it’s also not out of the realm of possibility for Cannondale either.
I wonder how much a 17″ lefty 29′r SS would weight, I could be enticed
I would be enticed regardless of weight for a ‘dale 29er. My 1FG was a great bike. Loved the lock out. The handling was perfect. It weighed in at 24-25 lbs with fairly heavy stuff. I bet 26-27 lbs. for a 29er version. I would rather have a headshok, but I suppose a lefty would be ok as long as it had the complete lock out on it.
I will be anxiously awaiting the ’08’s. I just got a part time job at my local shop so I could get a deal on one and perhaps a new road bike to boot. Sad, but true.
Went to my LBS and inquired about his trip out to the cannondale preview. He reconfirmed all of above. When I asked him about a Cannondale FS 29er he said they have prototyped a Rush 29er but it was going through the testing phases and probably won’t be available until next spring. I’ll be interested to see what they’ve come up with.
