It made sense even before 29" came to life. Who wants dish on a rear wheel? Not sure on the MAxle (it's cost I mean), but I hope to see 150mm hubs on many big wheelers, also hardtails, after this one. In a very short time (like 3 years?), Lenz has gone from mostly DH frme builder to 90% 29" builders. That's quick, and that's devotion. I guess volumes are now sufficient to make "small" running changes while keeping the classic Behemoth pretty much intact (2 chainstay length options even). So, the Lunchbox is like the latest short CSL Behemoth, with some of the XC bit taken out of it, making it even more FR capable. Perhaps it now rides like I always expected the Behemoth to (I've never seen a Lenz live, and maybe for the better). Inch by inch it goes. Intense, after the super-twitchy on paper Spyder is now announcing a 5.5 with so may inches of rear travel. It won't be long before Lenzcomes with a 29" bike NOT meant to be able to ride up stuff. Just down, down, down. My bet it on 6.0 inches. White Brothers, as they always loyally have been, is matching each "bigger" 29" bike with a new fork it seems. Acting as a target for the larger fork brands. WB is on a very high 29" percentage now also I bet. When have you last seen a non-DH 26" WB fork? Mike and Devin are doing what a lot of folks said was impossible for 29"ers just a couple of years ago. 29"er wheels were too weak, they said. No way would you be able to squeeze out more than a couple of inches of travel on FS 29"ers because the wheels are too big, they opined. Well, we're seeing a big helping of crow being served up from a mighty capable Lunch Box here folks. That's what is so cool about these Lenz Sport bikes and what is just the tip of the ice berg, if what I'm hearing comes true. To be sure, Mike and Devin are not the only ones coming out with "myth busting" 29"ers. There are other categories where the 29"er is going to make in roads this year, and I can't wait to see it happen! Even if I don't partake of the pleasures of those diciplines, it's a positive developement for the wheel size as a whole. Just to echo a bit here from name: este’s post…

So what if they used existing technology to make it happen? Show me another bike like it with 29" wheels, or just go gawk at the me-too bikes some more on emptybeer and read the endless chatter about how much air pressure to run in your tires or how cool the latest rigid single speed is and what gear ratio use.
