Redline To Abandon 26″er MTB’s?

The story going around about Redline is that they are going to drop the 26″er mtb bike in ‘08. The ‘08 line up for 29″ers is going to expand to include an aluminum hardtail that is geared and possibly more. Stay tuned as we get more information to update you on this story.

    Hmmm… A bold move from a company that produces 4 mountain bike models 2 of which are already 29ers. Thats 2 away from saying that Niner is dropping all of it’s 26er MTBs.

    A year ago it would have meant quitting making mountainbikes altogether then.

    Niner doesn’t make any 26″ wheel bikes. The name kinda of hints to that! The only real 26″ bike that Redline made were single speed offerings anyway. With singlespeeds being such a niche market and the fact that their 29″ monocog outsold the 26″ version, why not make the change. They have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Good luck to them.

    Dropping the 26″ bikes does not mean they would be reducing the number of models offered. Think gearies, front suspension, aluminum frames…
