Fox 29er Forks

April 2nd, 2007 by Tim Grahl

I have an anonymous source from deep, deep inside Fox saying they are definitely releasing a 29er fork at Sea Otter.

It has 46mm rake, “handling by bontrager” decal (see the fisher hifi / genesis 2.0 geometry for more info) and is called the F29.

And it’s gonna be on some of the new Trek models… (Trek models? Sounds like confirmation of that rumor as well)

More info coming down the pipe…

Any idea if it is float or vanilla based? That is excellent news and cannot wait for it to be released aftermarket. I will be waiting at the front of the line.

There’s IMO a good chance that Specialized’s entry to the sport is UNrelated to Fox doing so. At Eurobike, a Trek employee (well Mr. Gary Fisher) told me “they” had asked Fox to make a fork, with 29″-specific offset. If Trek (Fisher) were involveed in “hot” forks the past few years, they had a one-year exclusive on it, as they were the only ones willing to lay down the cash, well in advance, for a full production series.
