Lots o’ Links
February 21st, 2007 by Tim GrahlIn cased you missed the recent deluge of posting, here’s a recap…
While he was at Frost Bike, Guitar Ted got to ride a bastardized bike called the 36″er.
Speaking of Frost Bike, he got off the huge wheels long enough to get some juicy rumors out of the show on all kinds of QBP 29er stuff as well.
And the rumors continue with inside sources coughing up the goods from the big boys in Waterloo. Trek is sick of seeing their sister company spank them in sales, so they’re gonna release their own 29er. Also, lots of new stuff coming out of Gary Fisher.
I spent the weekend in the Tucson desert riding a Kona Kula 2-9 for the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo. Here’s my thoughts on the bike after 50+ miles of riding.
And I’ll take this opportunity to give a shout out to our sponsors who make this site possible. Both me and Guitar Ted have ridden their stuff and give it a thumbs up.
Gary Fisher stays ahead of the game with the largest selection of 29ers in their 2007 line up. There’s something for everyone.
Bontrager does the 29er tires and 29er wheels thing, and does it well.
Redline offers two singlespeed 29ers for those on a budget. If you want to do the big wheeled thing but are short on cash, you gotta check ‘em out. The Monocog 29er and Flight 29er.
Raleigh has, from my experience, the most comfortable and well performing rigid singlespeed in the price range with the XXIX. And if you’re looking for gears and suspension, they’ve got that to with the XXIX+G.
