New Limited Edition Surly Hub Color

December 19th, 2006 by Guitar Ted

surly hub

Surly has just introduced a limited edition “Jim Brown” color hub set for single speeding with a disc brake, a track hub set, and as a single speed rear only with disc mount. These are usually produced in super low count runs, so get yours while you can! Most any independany bike shop could hook you up through their QBP vendor.

I know it’s not really a 29″er specific thing, but alot of you 29″er freaks are single speeders, so I thought a heads up was in order!

thats real purdy. I think brown (bronze?) might be the new pink.

Anyone know if these are actually in stock @ QBP? I don’t have access to their website…

They show 50+ on hand for both models. They can only be bought by the set. Looks like the MSRP would be $175-$200 for the disc model and $130-$150 for the “track” model. Here is some info on the disc set:

To me this is a pretty boring color… seriously, brown?

  6. 6 .downhillfaster.

I wonder how it would look next to an El Mariachi LE paintjob…

The color was described to me as almost a copperish-brown color, which if true, would match the El Mariachi LE to a “T”.

Anyone got any build-up suggestions? I got a set for my wife and she’s thinking destickered black salsa DelgDisc and black spokes with gold nipples. I think the exact opposite…

Anyone got them built up yet?
