it's 28 lbs for the medium.
hear me blab about the peace at
http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/newreply.php?do=postreply&t=175487

if you want to use a derailer, get the raleigh. There's no hanger on the GT, the only way to make it work is with a Hone or Saint hub and derailer combo. That'll make it much more expensive, and add alot of weight.

I am interested in this bike because of price, looks – i really think it´s a beautiful bike – and the good reviews it gets for it´s handling. But having little experience from singlespeed riding off-road (I have a singlespeed which I use in town and on tarmac) I am a bit worried if I will find it too limited. (I live in a hilly area in Norway). My question is: Would it be possible to upgrade it with a rear derailleur if I find I would need it? Is it possible to fit a deraillurhanger in the rear drop-outs? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

thanks

I dunno...all braking systems should be engineered to accomodate any tire the forks/stays can fit. Seems like strkie-one to me.

I guess so if a mini pump is your only means.... If you're doing this because you're using a car to haul the bike around, why not put a floor pump in the car as well? I have to deflate my front tire by about 15 to 20 lbs get the swing arm on my rack to hold my 29"er. I definitely would be looking for another way if a mini pump is the only means for airing the tires. My luck with popping brake pads and generally messing with brakes & etc at a trail head is not good.....

I guess... but wouldn't mini-pumping it take about the same amount of time?

Have you ever considered just deflating the front tire a little, rather than popping the brake pads out?

Yeah it's definitely not a huge problem, especially if you have a set of 2.2s or smaller you'd rather ride.

That's good to know. I don't use bike racks either (since you should be out riding it instead of carting it around.) But, since I'd be using it for commuting and everything else, I'd prolly have skinnier tires on it in the first place.
