There is more to the Dorothy than might be apparent at first. They come with a Jen Greene Headbadge standard. That would run you about $100 more on Rob's custom. The paint is also significantly more expencive, and would cost you more on Rob's custom. Those two differences alone make it a much more affordable bike.

The overall goal of the Dorothy was to provide a near custom bike, in a wide size range, at a reasonable cost. Dorothy's are nearly the same level as the customs, built in much the same way. That said, if you want a custom bike, Rob has some of the nicest around. It is, however, muc more than a $150 difference.

Cheers,
Ben

I don't get it... for $150 more I can get a custom Badger, IMO if I were spending 1250 on a frame I could easily throw down another 150 for custom.

GT - it was a joke...

That weight sounds fine to me for a gearie, and I'm sure it's very fast.

.downhillfaster.: Hmm......guess you didn't catch the comments in the review about speed? Take another look and you will see them. As for weight, I think that the 24.5lbs, (An honest weight and agian- that's with pedals, water bottle cage and a bell)- it's pretty light. It's right where it should be.

Consider that with a carbon rigid fork that the bike would be more like 22.5lbs complete, and with some other bits and pieces swapped out- ie, brakes, bars, and tubeless tires- you could easily be at 20-21 lbs. Chubby? Nah.....just a real world, durable, smart build on a great looking high performance frame. And trust me.......it's waaay fast!

Also, keep in mind that I weigh 240lbs, ready to ride, and I thought that the build, sans the Moots titanium stem, was really solid. I wouldn't have feared any of the parts from a lack of durability standpoint.

I am curious if Tim will be getting his hands on this at some point. I would love to throw a leg over "her". A Badger is definitely in my future ...if I tire with the Sultan/ Inbred combo that is!!! ;)

So she's a little chubby - built for comfort, not necessarily for speed

swedge: The bike was tested as a complete rig, I never got to weigh the frame by itself. It weighed 24.5lbs as delivered to me with pedals, bottle cage, and bell!

I'll get pricing details up later. Stay tuned!
