Soma: GroovenStein

October 15th, 2006 by Tim Grahl

Soma Groove frame, White Ind. Eccentric hub, White Bros Magic 29 100mm fork, Chris King, Race Face, Paul Fhub. Wheels hand built by me are almost true (not bad for a first timer wheel builder). It’s fun, handles pretty well, and goes downhill like nothing (hardtail) I’ve ever riden. Overall, FUN, front 29 rolls over things better and the 26 rear follows without problems. As expected great acceleration from the 26 rear wheel, one of the reasons I didn’t get a full 29, I didn’t feel like I had the same acceleration. With this I can push out of turns faster than most of my equal 29er buds. The Groovenstein is an overall joy to ride!!!
