.downhillfaster: Availability on the Smallblock 8 was hoped to be in the spring. They had a spot labeled for it on the display rack at the show but the pre-production sample didn't show. Weights should be listed in the packet I was handed at the show, so I will get that info out ASAP.

GT - any GUESSES from Kenda on the Small Block availability date? Also, did you get weights for the Nev 2.2 or the small block?

Cloxx, you are a recovering weight weenie. It takes alot to impress the likes of you! (wink-wink!)

Yes, that's not "super light", but it's right in there with the 26"er offerings and at the retail price that you can score one for, it's pretty impressive to me. Consider the weight/ cost ratio, it's a good deal then. Add in that you'll be able to order one almost anywhere, and you've got the complete package, in my opinion.

Put this bike on a diet and it'll be sub 20lbs with a rigid carbon fork like a Pace or the upcoming Origin 8. It wouldn't be too hard, especially if you saw how they spec'ed out the Mamasita at the show.

Thanks Ted!

3.5lb, but what does an all-alu Fisher Cobia frame weigh then? I bet the same. My XL Paragon (identical frame) was 3.75lb.
So a Fisher builds up just as light, but comes as a (heavier) bike in stead of frame-only.
The Salsa is more special in all kinds of ways obviously, but just mentioning the weight doesn't impress me :-)
