Now this sounds interesting…
August 4th, 2006 by Tim GrahlI’ve heard a rumor that there’s a small frame manufacturer working on a new production frame. Fillet brazed and fully geared. That’s all I’ve got as of now. Anybody else heard anything similar?

Yep! Got the whole low down straight from the source. I was waiting on a phone call, but I could write it up in a new post? Okay?
Yep. Heard the same here too, from probable the same source. Sounds quite promising to me too. Fillet Brazed and ‘affordable’, if $1k to $1300 is affordable to your wallet. Very promising idea from two very creative folks. Should be exciting. Keeping my mouth shut though…I like secrets ;). Hearing them that is.
I had heard a similar rumor, and the mtbr board is suggesting it will have a matching fork, be fillet brazed, and have a Jen Green HT badge…
If that’s handmade (not a oversea’s mass produced ____er brand) then it seems like a no-brainer choice for the HT 29er buyer.
$1000 to $1300? Granted, it takes a bit of time, but you can get a custom Curtlo for less than that. Al Wanta up near the bay area will do a custom fillet brazed for less than that, too. Seems like about $750 - $800 would be the ceiling on one of these production jobs.
Sean350: True, while there are a few fillet brazers out there that will do a 29″er, the only difference between them and this new venture is you do not get to name your geometry. Really, that’s about it. And when you factor in the head badge, and panel paint job, those guys get alot closer to this and maybe a bit over.
I’ve done some Google searching and most of what’s available out there is alot more spendy. Keeping in mind that there are fillets and then there are awesome fillets. I think you’ll be amazed at these when they become available to see.
Maybe the name begins with a B and ends with an R??
MMcG: Bzzzzt! Very, very close, but not correct!
Starts with a “D” and ends with a “Y”.
Dang I thought it started with an ‘X’ and ended with a ‘Q’.
So is the builder going to give a special name for the production frames the way Scott Quiring did with his QBall Frames and QStick forks?
Hmm…….don’t know about that MMcG. I’ll have to wait right along with you to find out. Couple a weeks or so……….
