Other 29er Fork Options
July 11th, 2006 by Tim GrahlI am currently putting together a 29 incher steel hard-tail, and want to put a set of nice cross country suspension forks on front. At the moment it appears the only reasonably priced options are the Rockshox Rebas. Does anyone know if any of the big players are coming up with more options next year?

Just get the reba, it’s a great fork.
Honestly, there isn’t a better fork out there other than maybe the White Magic forks and those are already available in 29er models. Neither Manitou or Fox really make that great of a fork. Marzhochi(Sp?) has lost their lead a few years ago.
Go for the Reba - best bang for the buck IMO
From what I hear next year will not produce any new forks from suspension companies beside the Marzocchi, Rock Shock Reba, Maverick, and White Brothers that are currently on the market.
The Rockshox Tora is like the budget version of the Reba, and it getting great reviews now being spec’d on the 2006 Fisher Cobia. Should become available aftermarket soon.
I vote for the WB Magic…I have them, and since they broke in I love them - a little sticky right out of the box, but that’s to be expected…
Wasn’t there rumblings of a Pace 29″er sus fork on the horizon? I seem to be remembering reading about that.
Also, once Cannondale gets it’s 29″er to market you “theoretically” could get a proper 29″er fork from them, although several conversions exist already.
It’s my sincere hope that Manitou will make the Fisher Gen 2 fork avaialable in a 29″er format too.
Reba Poplock! Locking out to climb and sprint is sweet.
Maverick makes one.. its stock on the Trek 29..
