Fisher Caliber
June 25th, 2006 by CloxxkiThis pic just surfaced. Looks really good to me!
From the looks of it, equipped with Avid mechanical disc brakes, making it a model below the $2299.99 SuperCaliber already listed on the Fisher website.
Rumored MSRP for the Caliber : $1700.
A lightweight race FS for the going price of similar frames-only? Fingers crossed!
Get your deposit down in time, nice Fisher 29″ers tend to be out of stock most of the year…

Not to mention the appeal of this color scheme over the oh-so-dull Super Caliber. This one will be terminally out of stock and I’m betting we’ll be seeing alot of these upgraded.
Sure is better looking than the Sugars - will the Sugars be obsolete for 2007?
Great value when you take into consideration all that comes with this complete FS bike.
But still there is something about that front triangle that just doesn’t wow me, but perhaps it is designed that way because that is the strongest and most functional way to do so.
We just got ours in stock. Not built yet, but they come with BBDB7’s. Will have one built soon!
not a rumor. fisher has them in stock. $1700.
I thought the Caliber was a 26 incher
there’s a caliber 26 and 29. i am waitng for the procaliber 29? that would be awesome.
I’m sorry but that is one butt ass ugly bike. Who came up with the puke green scheme? I’d stay with a hardtail before buying that rig!
I’m with Sevo. A nice Matt black with outlined logos is the way. Like JAmis of last year or the year before.

Yeah i like Black, but think an Olive Drab one would rock.. the green is not bad, atlest its not RED or Purple…
The Supercal is the matte black one. you want matte black, then buy that one.
what ever guys. Black bikes are BORRRRRRING!
The green rocks! In the summer, it’ll be hard to find the bike. Kinda like camoflage.
Hey funkenstein, i have one on backorder.
Has anyone heard any news or seen any pictures of the ‘07 Fisher X-Caliber???
I hear it will be Pearl Silver, but have no other info.
nice swedge! post some pics once you get it!
and Dan, here is a thread on the 07 X Cal:
http://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=200498
yeah i just hope i get it before September, as thats prime riding time around here.. SC
hey Fisher has these in stock! who’s the first to order one and give us a ride report??
You know I asked my local dealer about this and the Caliber that they and Fisher seem to be talking about is a hard tail so who is right?
Caliber (FS)
X-Caliber (HT)
ProCaliber (FS)
Could they be confused?
Often such early model releases are concerning super-small quantities. Next week they may have more of them?
I wonder, are these Raceday frames really WELDED in the USA? For complete FS bikes costing $1700 retail?
welded in USA. warterloo, wisconsin. thats what i was told by ryan atkinson.
I am wondering if the specs will match the 26″ version on the web site?

Yeah but what are the shock specs?
I all ready know I will be swapping the Cranks on my Super for some XT 180mm, the front shifters for some SRAM twist X9s or XOs and the Bar for an EC70 and probably a longer higher stem to make up for the reach/Height that I lost going to the flat bar.
Hey Dan, your right the x-cal is silver with the same retro decals as last year, in orange/red. They must have changed the geometry slightly(standover) I noticed more standover than my first gen Rig(med) and last year x-cal, thank god they kept the BB7 brake spec. It seems smaller, but is still comfy tooling around the shop.
Saw three of these at the LBS yesterday (17,19,21). Looks great! Hopefully I will get a chance to ride on late this week. Had a Reba SL on the front. Rest of the specs listed are spot on.
Color looks GREAT in person. A little darker than image looks. Just my opinion of course.
We have a few at our shop, and on my first demo ride it was a great ride and I love the front triangle, it should put the much aligned 292-3’s to rest.
Just went to the shop to order one. The color scheme was orange, not green, Shimano not SRAM, and Hydraulic not mechanical brakes.
Uh oh, did I order the 26″?
DE DE DE !!! look before you leap ( or order )
tim, you definantly ordered the 26er. the orange one also has a manitou fork. manitou does not make a 29er fork, yet.
Crazy, the shop dude swears he ordered me the ‘07 29er. Is it possible the pic on the trekdealer.com site is just not updated? In the ‘06 print catalog it says the orange caliber is a 29er. (it is ok to post all this here, right?)
the caliber 29er is an 07 model. it was not in any 06 catalogs. the 06 catalog does list the orange one as a 29er but also in the descripition it lists the fork as manitou r7 there is no r7 29er fork. the picture also clearly shows the bike as a 26er. 07 caliber 29er is definantly green and only green.
Thanks, they are ordering it Monday, so all is good. I appreciate all the feedback. I’ll let you know how it goes after a few rides.
Yo dudes.. I got a question.. has the 2007 Gary Fisher x-caliber seat tube been taken care of. I am reading that it had breakage issues in the 2006. i’m seriously considering getting the 2007 X-Caliber soon.. I just wanted be sure.. I don’t wanna be spending money and it’s gonna fail under me. This will be something I’ll be depending on for my transportation since for 3 months I won’t have the VAN. I’ll be residing in D.C. area and need something solid and 2007 X-Caliber is what i’m considering.. I’m 6′3.75″ and I weight about 245lbs which I planning on losing after I start riding.. So will it hold?
Word is that it has been addressed. Get your rear end off the saddle over bumps, pot holes, etc, and the wheels and frameset will be golden for years, I would think. You and I are about the same weight, so I speak from experience with this. Ride light, use the legs for “rear suspension” duties over the “butt-rough” and there shouldn’t be any problems. Good Luck!
that seat tube issue is so 18 months ago. more importantly and significantly is the bb height. we have one in the shop and i have personally measured it. the race day bb is the same as the sugar and older hardtails-11 inches (1 inch lower than the the current hardtails) before the suspension even starts moving. so if you are a baby about hitting your pedals beware. if you you are one who enjoys the stability of the low bb then it’s time for celebration
Hey does any body know the stem length/ diameter and rise for the XL frame? I have a super Caliber on back order but like using a flat bar with a longer stem higher rise combo. Riser bars always have too much pull back for me and when You use bar ends it makes them into limb catchers!!!
i just got my 16″ caliber . it came with a 75mm stem which i am going to change out to a 30mm or 50mm . heard they’re sold out again .
