New Zion 29er Rigid forks at JensonUSA

May 27th, 2006 by Tim Grahl

UPDATE: They are now in stock!

While they are currently labeled as “Discontinued” I have it on good authority that they just recieved a shipment in late last week of the Zion Rigid Mountain 29er Forks. They’ll be availabe in both Gloss White and Matte Black.

Some specs from the website…

Each is constructed of TIG-welded chromoly tubing with a great strength/weight ratio.

  • All forks accept 51mm IS disc brake calipers (rim brakes cannot be used)
  • Standard 1 1/8″ threadless steerer tubes
  • 29″ fork weighs 2.55 lbs (1,156 grams) and has axle-to-crown measurement of 475mm (replaces Rockshox Reba 29′er or similar)

Hopefully they’ll be listed tomorrow as in stock and I can get some pictures.

    Aaah, that’s nice!

MSRP $79, “your price” $65. Where else can these be bought then?
Anyway, $65 seems like a very agreable price.

I wonder how much offset they put in the 29″ version, 39mm like the Reba or much more to spice handling up and help fit for shorter riders?

The information I got ended up getting changed so the availability is a bit off of what I was told… I’ll post again when they are actually in stock!

Okay, who makes the call to Jenson? When we know the offset on the 29″ fork, we’ll know who to advise to buy it.
If it’s 39mm like the Reba, I might want one to slightly chopper out and slow down handling on my older Fisher, over the current KM fork. If it’s towards 50mm, I might want it to spice up my KM bike.
