However; I wouldn't be too broke up about the news, I really do not think that the "96er" is a good marketing move on Treks part. Why go "halfway" when you already are producing full-on 29"ers under another brand name? Seems like a step backwards, no? That said, Trek needs to get something lined up in a 29" format soon. Other companies are coming on-line now, ( and very soon!) with products that are taking away potential market share for Trek at an alarming rate. Just check out the buzz over the Redline MonoCog for an example. It’s not uncommon for conflicting information to come out of the Trek empire.
