Redline Monocog 29″er!
December 5th, 2005 by Guitar TedA frequent commenter to this site, (Cloxxki) has reported that he has heard that Redline is planning on coming out with a 29 inch wheeled version of their reknowned Monocog single speed rig. What is really astounding is the rumored retail price of $450.00 complete! That’s a stunning price and would be an awesome way to get introduced to 29″ wheels. Let’s hope we get more solid word and maybe some pics in the near future.

With singlespeeding becoming more and more an accepted setup for a future bikes, how many people with curiosity towards 29″ will be able to stay away from a sub-$500 Monocog?
Redline doesn’t seem to operate here in Europe, but at that pricepoint I’d love to have one as a capable townie of go-visit-friends-bike. Or stick mud tires to it and get a kick out of bringing the cheapest bike to a cross race.
I hope Redline will be able to produce and sell lots of these before the usual big brands get the idea, although they’ll be more likely to stick derailers to it, another market althogether.
I’m positive a cheap rigid 29″er can give a mid-range 26″er a serious run for it’s money.
Got my Redline Monocog 29er about a month ago. I love it!!! I am selling all my broken suspension bikes. Do not do antything to this bike other than ride the hell out of it.
The Redline Monocog 29er is the shit and the shiizle and every bit worth what you can buy it for if you can find one. If you have hammer-head tendencies such as myself you will love this bike because it climbs well and bombs decents straight and true despite the lack of suspension. I reccomend finding a friend with a really expensive bike and spanking him all day on your rigid one speed Redline. It will make you a believer as well.
